Diamond was purchased at the Archdale Auction for $60. Said to be 27 years old and pregnant. No one was bidding on her and a H.E.R.O volunteer couldn't walk away from this Mare and brought her home. Thanks to the kindness and large hearts of H.E.R.O volunteers Diamond has received a pregnancy test, which was negative, as well as a much needed vet check which showed she has VERY Arthritic knees advanced joint disease!!!
The Vet suggested acid and steroids cost $300.00 approximate she said the shots are good for about 6 months.
In her opinion this mare is not a euthanasia candidate at this time she has all her teeth is gaining weight she just needs pain mgmt
She has since been started on MSM and ASPIRIN and she seems better...enough to chase ponies!!!

She currently wears shoes on her front feet we concluded this was probably to keep her from dragging her toes off she cannot straighten her front legs so she will need to be kept shod.
